 Championing body confidence

Mixing physical and mental training that aim to reset negative perceptions, placing focus on strength, confidence and body celebration.

Your body is not the problem.

My intention is to inspire people to become so sure of themselves that they completely reject any kind of societal expectation.

That they know and trust themselves so well they can know exactly what is right for their bodies and minds. No matter what diet culture or toxic fitness professionals tell them.

I am a BODY IMAGE COACH and Personal Trainer, promoting a positive, healthy, relationship with our bodies and towards food and exercise.

My approach to training is heavily influenced by my own journey, breaking free from diet culture, toxic workout habits and working to heal my own body image.

I believe we should embrace our bodies as they are, enjoy life now and celebrate it.

Exercise is not a punishment, it is a privilege.

I have created this community, business and my Body Image Academy because I was so sick of seeing so much focus put on losing weight or changing your appearance with no focus on how this advice and pressure affects us mentally and physically long term.

I am passionate and know that if we concentrate on how we are feeling, the relationship we have with our bodies, food and exercise first then the rest will come. It will ultimately lead to happiness and acceptance towards ourselves

I am all about repairing the damage diet culture and toxic fitness professionals have done to a lot of us over the years.

Kim Resilience Training – What does resilience have to do with body image?

Everything! And here is why;

Resilience is the ability to recover from difficulties and a poor / non beneficial body image comes from experiencing various difficulties in our lives. You could either be stuck with a fixed image of how you see yourself or stuck in a specific event that altered your perception. Even a combination of both.

As your coach and personal trainer, I train your mind and body to overcome these difficulties and help you to develop behaviour and thought patterns that promote a positive relationship and perception of yourself and your body.

Body Image Academy

I see so many around me struggle with their self worth due to how they perceive their bodies and this is something I have struggled with myself in the past as well. So I have put everything I have learnt and experienced helping myself and others onto an 8 module course to help you on your body acceptance journey.

Personal Training and classes.

My approach is exercise / movement is based on my own body image journey, with rejecting diet culture and stepping away from toxic workout habits – none of which helped me, quite the opposite.

I have a slightly different approach to most Personal Trainers. I am about rejecting the diet mentality and the exercise is punishment rhetoric.

Exercise is a privilege and should be used as a celebration of what your body can do.

I have a Level 2 Gym Instructor and circuit training qualification and I am working towards my Level 4 exercise referral as well as pre and post natal. The aim here is to really change the perception of how fitness and health is perceived.

Health and appearance do not ultimately equate to the same thing; if you look “thin” then you are not necessarily fit, and vice vera.

Much like worth and appearance – these types of attitudes drilled into us by the media are a huge thing contributing to a poor body image.

I am very much a HAES (Health At Every Size) advocate and have a keen interest in intuitive eating.

Body Image Coaching

I have trained as a coach at the Robbins Madanes institute which is run by world famous, coach, motivational speaker, and philanthropist Tony Robbins and world-renowned innovator and teacher of family and strategic therapy, Cloé Madanes.

I have a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Level 5 qualification and an in depth knowledge of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). Throughout my training I have coached people worldwide, helping them to reach their goals and feel empowered.

You should never view your challenges as a disadvantage. Instead, it’s important for you to understand that your experience facing and overcoming adversity is actually one of your biggest advantages.

When someone says they want to look better they actually mean they want to feel better about how they look. So, then why are we told to ignore our feelings in the pursuit of this goal?

We are told to ignore our feelings of hunger, feelings of shame, feelings of guilt, feelings of enjoyment, of pleasure, need I go on? We are told to ignore all of that, because the premise is once you look better then you will feel better. Sorry to burst your bubble diet and fitness industries – thats not how it works… That is not how I work either…
